Context

Innovative Designers of Tomorrow (IDOT) is a non-profit organization started by UC Berkeley
students that aims to bring accessible, comprehensive, and empathetic design education to high school students in a student-driven, club-based format.

Contributions

I was a Graphic Designer on the Marketing team for the founding semester of IDOT, where I created various illustrations and promotional materials, usually in Figma, for our social media and club events. Every graphic was the result of an extremely iterative process - collaboration was key, as my team held weekly meetings to brainstorm content ideas, provide feedback, and iterate over designs together.

Reflection

Our club’s goal was to provide the design opportunities we wish we had when we were younger to other students, and ultimately prop up the next generation of future designers. To achieve this, my team and I decided that brand identity was a top priority to portray the inspirational, bright image of IDOT to our eager audience. In all of my illustrations, I focus on matching unique visual styles we brainstormed while keeping everything easily understandable.
